"MeediOS" or "Project MeediOS" refers to a new free opensource project started by the community which aims to provide an excellent alternative to the closedsource Meedio. MeediOS has been built around a small core with an "everything is a plugin" ideology. MeediOS has also been designed from the beggining to support multiple user interfaces and the UPnp standard.
Based on the original Meedio project that was bought out by Yahoo in 2006, MeediOS is the next generation built to have a very small core code and all options are availble as plugins. Not the most straightforward software to build an HTPC out of, but powerful and supported by a legion of fans.
