Even if you don't want to use My movies, may I recommend it purely for the excellent built in media database.

I don't want to keep on about this because obviously it's down to personal choices, but I still totally agree with dunks.
I see more post and help chats here, about media browser problems than anything else. Certainly not slagging off an excellent product, but my movies to me, is simply something I have never worried about.

I guess it's like I never use windows media player to rip or find music info, purely because it's crap for it, where As iTunes has a much better, simpler way of ripping. Doesn't mean I have to use iTunes to play my music.
I should point out that the appeal of Media Browser to me was the apparent simplicity of just having folder names generate the film database, but all is not good in my household with it; Media Browser is not installing properly on my bedroom Media Center PC, it keeps crashing out when trying to access it via the Media Center menu. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling/deleting config files...

So, back to My Movies for the Home Server! Rolleyes

Should try and get it up and running this week as a master database on the Home Server, then My Movies clients on the other Media Center PCs.

Media Browser RIP Sad
I have got media brower installed.
When i go into media brower then go to look for my films it takes ages.
Is there any way of making them load up quicker?
I have already gone into "configuration" and under "media options" i have clicked "remember folder indexing"
Are you using metabrowser or similar to put the metadata into the folder containing the film? If not, that might speed it up.
