humax freeview
Wonder if anyone could help me with this freeview problom as im not too clued up with tv stuff.

My mother has one of those humax pvrs and last week she found that she cant receive ITV and chan 4 channels. She gets her signal from hannington as far as I know.
She lives in a flat and as yet not asked any other residence if they are getting similar problems and she has another freeview built into her tv but not tried doing this either cause she doesnt know how to Doh
She did retune her humax box and nothing changed, apprantley it shows no signal being received.

I can't get to her this week cause of work comitments but does anyone here think it could be a hardware fault or a problem coming from the transmitter?
Its very convenient that this seemed to happen when there is a change over with hd.

Anything I should check as a first port of call?
cheers

Well I guess silence speaks a thousand words, so none of us know the answer!

Is it working normal again yet?

LOLLol Thought as much.
I went around there to have a look. She gets the same problem with both her digital recievers which makes me think its a problem with her comunial ariel. Or just really bad reception (thats why I hate freeview, shitty pixalation all the time)
What I did notice is that there is also a sat feed into her flat. I'm encouraging her to go freesat at some point, less hassel.

RE: humax freeview
Thanks for the reply.
I did try that at the start but no luck.
The only reason that makes me think its not the humax, is when I tried the built in tuner on her tv she was getting similar results. The same channels were losing its signal all the time.
I believe it must be the Aeriel setup, its unlikely to be a blocked signal cause she lives in the tallest building for 30 miles.
Still an enigma cause the building management say its fine and the building is only 3 years old, hardly archaic.
Thanks again
