dvb-s card

When i am in wmc and i go to scan for new hardware its doesnt pick up my dvb-s card. So i rescan and then it finds it. Once i have found my dvb-s card (astra 2a-b d (28 2e) Eurobird 1 (28 se)) the singal is moving from 2 to 5 bars.
Could that mean my dish need moving??
i scan for the channels with my duel dvb-t and one dvb-s tuners. After about 5-10 min i get 139 channels of witch i may watch 20-30 (maybe less)
I go into my guilde then into HDTV and i can only see BBC HD but when i click on it say weak singal.
I cant see bbc hd or itv hd.

Does all that mean i need to get a ladder out and move the dish a bit???
If i do need to move it. Do i move the dish or the lmb??

Yes, if WMC is reporting a 2bar signal strength then your dish is out of alignment, or, there's something big in its way blocking it like a nearby building.

The dish only needs to be out by a few cms and you'll loose signal, so it might need the smallest of movements. Don't do a Rod Hull though so if in doubt, get someone in to tune it properly

Also, BBC One HD and ITV HD don't jump straight into the guide, I think Microsoft need to kick their Guide Data supplier into touch ;@

You might need to do a full Satellite scan and then search for the channels. Once found, you can move them elsewhere in the guide for ease-of-use.

Well it only took me nearly a month to get hold of a ladder. I got my dish moved last night. Did I full scan and it only found BBC HD.

So I manually added ITV 1 HD with theses setting

Tasks - Settings - TV - TV Signal - Satellite Transponder Scan

10832
22000
Horizontal


ITV 1 HD is all working.

Does any one no the setting for BBC1 HD???

Polarisation: V (vertical)
Symbol rate: 22.0 Mbaud
FEC: 5/6

We just need more HD channels

At first scan, all it does is retrieve the channels listed in the mothership (Microsoft), but it takes them about 6 months to get an up to date listing (slackers).

So if you do a full scan of the satellite (takes about 20mins), all available channels pop up, but some of the juicy ones (HD) have high numbers so you need to find them and move them up the guide order if you like.

I have been watching bbc hd, bbc 1 hd and itv1 hd for a bit now without any problems.
But the other day something has changed. When I watch any of my hd channels I get lines down the screen. I have checked the setting/sat signal inside wmc7 setting and they are fine. 5bar on sat strenght.

Driver update on your graphics card?

nVidia always gave me issues, but ATi have been good on all machines I have built.
