Windows explorer 9
Hi all, just curious whats going on with everyone, the forum seems to be deader than a toad with a brick up its arse.
So to start it off, thought I would ask if anyone had thoughts on the new explorer 9 (beta) that's come out. Looks good for the moment. I think HTML5 will race ahead now. "Do or do not. There is no try." Yoda |

Yeah, things have been a bit quiet round these parts. Myself, I've been so busy with work that I haven't had much time to geek at all. I am also developing a website for my brother though (an ecommerce one) and as such, have all the browsers installed so I can test compatibility. IE9, well, it's better, but still crap! Chrome, Firefox or Safari should still be the browsers of choice for savvy internet users. Any IE version just rubs me up the wrong way; it's been so bad at rendering the internet in a compliant way for so many years that it's gone too far to get back any credibility. It just makes up its own rules as it goes and ignores web standards. I think Chrome is the best one due to its slimline code (making it fast to run on any PC), and that it auto updates so everyone with Chrome worldwide are all on the same version; great for web development!! After that, Firefox should be the standard browser on any PC. elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |

RE: Windows explorer 9
Well I never liked chrome until you mentioned it, gave it a go and yea I like it.
The problem is you can be set in your ways with browsers and it becomes dogma after a while, especially when your other half only likes one type and IE is always on your work computers. Only problem with new IE is there is no way to back browse more than one page at a time. "Do or do not. There is no try." Yoda |

So that covers IE9, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Just make sure they're updated. You'll get to see some great subtle web design shining through for those developers that implement it. elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |

RE: Windows explorer 9
IE 9 just simply doesn't work at all on my PC - I installed it, but when you open it up it either crashes outright, or opens a 'white' page and stays there irrelevant of typing in URL's . . .
I've long since hated IE, and love FireFox, that I can't even be bothered to investigate why it doesn't work on my PC. _______________________________________________ http://www.clifford-wright.co.uk/blog - My Random Witterings |
