Upgrading/changing Sky hard drive with Copy+
Hi all
I have just found this site it called Copy+ and its FREE. Copy+ is a powerful freeware program that allows you to backup and transfer your Sky+ and Sky HD hard drives. The ONLY product on the market that can do this, Copy+ can also copy between previously incompatible box models AND will work around Sky limitations on maximum hard disk sizes. Now you can take your box to 1TB! Growing old is compulsory... Growing up is optional |

RE: Upgrading/changing Sky hard drive with Copy+
Yes, it's a great program and used it before.
I'm looking to get the new style Sky HD+ box as it's slimmer and have just the space to accomodate it. At the moment my glass cabinet for the tv, media pc, amp and Sky HD box is a little full and the PS3 is just on top of one of the speakers. Another reason is that the box is an original Thompson box, and now sounds like an airplane taking off when the fans are all working and unless the amp is turned up a bit, you can hear it quie clearly. Having measured the new box it will fit perfectly with the PS3 on top of it. However, unsure if I open the new Sky HD box to use the Sky+ copying function to transfer programming from the current HDD on the HD box to the new one. This will invalidate the warranty. So not too sure at this time... |

RE: Upgrading/changing Sky hard drive with Copy+
Im not a fan of the sky+ boxes.
This is my second box within the year and my new one still has a mind of its own. Half the time i'm not sure if its the hard drive at fault or the software. Tried many times to reset, download new software and even swear at it really hard, still it plays up. At least when it does fail its a good incentive to get a couple of freesat cards for my htpc and there won't be much of an argument from the other half. If you put your ps3 on top of sky box, will there not be any heat issues? "Do or do not. There is no try." Yoda |

Sounds like a great way to bugger around with your Sky box on a rainy Sunday afternoon!
