TunerFree MCE
TunerFreeMCE is a Windows Media Center add-in for watching streaming internet TV programs on your PC and Media Center Extender. For UK users, it has support for live TV and catch up programs from the UK's main TV providers (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five), as well as all of the BBC Radio stations. It also has support for the recently launched MSN Video Player in the UK, all through an easy to use Media Center interface.

RE: TunerFree MCE
This is one of those I've seen others using and keep thinking I should try it myself. I've used the ITV player a few times recently forgetting to record some of the wife's programing, whoops!

Think I'll give it a go this weekend.

RE: TunerFree MCE
I find it nice to have the options open to you, but im not a fan of how some of the channels let you watch there programs.
I.e ITV has no channels skips for obvious reason.
Also I find that the flash can play up now and again.

Maybe Iv'e become a snob since I've used iplayer, the quality always is better.

so i stopped using it, but then it interrupted Slumdog, (an awesome film) to say do you want to update this?

RE: TunerFree MCE
I have been using it for a few days now and it doesn't seem to buff when you are watching. It is like watching the tv.
The only time it comes up with buffering is when you open a program. Its doesn't take a sec.

RE: TunerFree MCE
I'm finding that some of the on demand systems are more equal than others - iplayer works through tunerMCE really well, but 4od is pretty hopeless because you have to start out with the programme embedded in a web page and then you have to manually make it pop out into full screen. Has anyone found a way around this?

RE: TunerFree MCE
Welcome Phil :)
I know what you mean about making it bigger.
I'm not aware of a fix, not sure if you could talk to the developer to see if he could rectify it, obviously his hearing would be great if a donation was made Wink

The technology is not quite there I don't think. Close, but not close enough (thanks roy)

It makes me wonder sometimes if we have high expectations, like the idea of making a video larger wouldnt have even been a thought 5 years ago, we would have just been dribbling over there mere fact we could watch tv through the internet.

The BBC have just set a very high bar for the others. And not having it rely on ad revenue makes it very appealing. The competition have a hard time trying to compete with the slickness of iplayer.

I think I may still try TunerFree just to utilise the iPlayer stuff. It'll help make the system a bit more wife friendly.

RE: TunerFree MCE
Has anyone had problems with errors showing up everytime you finish watching a program?
