Recorded TV stutters a few seconds after fast forwarding
Hi
I have built a new Media Centre PC withe a 5450 Graphics Card. 1TB hdd 4gig mem, E5800 processor and an ASRock MB.

Blurays and DVD's work perfectly and so do rips to MKV's

The fault only happens when I fast forward for example the adverts. It will work for a few seconds and then the picture stutters for a few seconds. A bit like the old Max Headroom fella back in the day!! I have tried going back to see if it has been recorded but the recordin is perfect. There is also one other issue when I first power back on from standby the whole display switches off for a second causing the TV to switch input and then refind it again . I have also tried another graphics card and have the same fault.

Thanks in advance as I am stuck and can't find any answers on the forum and this is affecting the WAF factor!! Wink

Hellooo and welcome Wave

I get picture stutter on HD channels when I skip forward (BBC & ITV) but it sounds like it's happening to you on all channels.

Try using the latest drivers from the AMD website or failing them not fixing it, try uninstalling them and let Windows install its own ones upon reboot. That's fixed it for me in the past.

Are you on Freesat or Freeview?

Another thing to check is the picture options in ccc, turn off the enforce smooth picture setting.
Just out of interest what Rez is your gfx card set at?

Tried turning off enforce smooth picture setting. Same Fault
Uninstalled the whole CCC package including drivers. Allowed Windows Update to intall the drivers. Same fault.
Using HD via Satellite.
Resolution set at 1920 x 1080.

Tried latest driver package 11-5_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_ocl.exe

Interestingly last night I tried using Shark007's CODEC for live and recorded tv and the stutter dissapeared. But also caused loads of weird problems after so back to square one!!
