Need Kitchen Ideas!

Need Kitchen Ideas!
This is my setup in my house, just briefly.

Home Server (Central Store for Music/MoviesPics etc)
Media Centre in living room

This is currently what is in my kitchen. It was a spare TFT (15") that I had and we used it to cover up a false cupboard. An old laptop was plugged into it (via VGA) that was in the cupboard you can see just to the right of the washer (white appliance in pic).

My idea was to have another mini media centre in their for music/pics etc but we've never used it for that. After much trialling the only thing we really do in the kitchen is cook then eat in the room, not cook and watch something. If we listen to music then we use the MC in the room just turned up a little as it's next door. Something has to be there to cover up the hole!

I do sometimes use my iphone in the morning to listen to the radio during breakfast.
Music wouldn't be needed as that comes form the living room
Pictures could be handy I guess.

I can only think of 3 options really!

1, Put a TFT Digital Photo Frame there
2, Put a TV there, although the cost to use ratio would be low.
3, Put a radio there. I like this idea but I cannot find any radio thats a 'slim panel' type shape.

Something has to go there! Any ideas?

Nice mod in the kitchen!

Can't think of any solution off the top of my head, but if you are prepared to spend all your money on an iPad and the loose change on some velcro, then you can create something truly special. Makes you wonder that if they shrunk it a bit and made it the same size as a phone, Apple might be onto something...

I did think about an ipad but couldn't justify the expense!

It's basically what I need and fits the bill perfectly but not at ££££'s.

I did see this but its not as flat as they make out apparently. I'd like to see one in the flesh.

It seems quite flat and also apparently draws your attention while cooking...

Cue boiling water being poured over his hand!

Had a great idea last night which will fill the gap (theres a hole in the wood behind the TFT).

A cork board to use as a notice board! :)

Simples!
Can you listen to radio on an ipod?

I have an app (fstream) for BBC R1 on my iphone. Can I assume it's the same for ipod touches?

Could just get a cheap one and stick that to the wall with speakers elsewhere?
