Mac Mini
Oooo, looky here. I've found a Mac Mini in my PC parts 'bin'!

One of the previous generations, a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo, but it only has onboard graphics - the latest ones have upgraded to dedicated nVidia graphics.

Time to see what Front Row can do, and hopefully it also includes Bootcamp so it'll be interesting to install my old copy of Vista to see what it handles like (cos Windows7 isn't supported yet). But I think I can also try XBMC on it so it should be interesting. (although not exactly sure where I can use it in my house :-/ )

Ha ha, nice photo. I take it also from your avatar that you're not Apple's biggest fan?

Don't worry, I doubt it'll become a permanent feature in my home. But it does give me something else to mess about with see what Apple are doing.

Elootos, Do you still have the Mac Mini? I have acquired one, upgraded to Snow Leopard and stuck Plex on it and I have found it to bereally impressive.

Yeah still got it collecting dust somewhere.

Just had a look at Plex and it looks intriguing. However what with me not using any Apple products not sure how beneficial to me it would be.

Good find though Thumb

How you finding it?

RE: Mac Mini
/prepares for the backlash....

I have been using my iMac as my main media server for years. PLEX is a great bit of kit. It got a whole lot better this year with the event of v9

Very easy to use. I love the fact that things just work (probably because i am not overly technical)

I will get my coat

Funny lol
I guess it's always good to have different perspectives.
I can't think anything else to say about apple other than good products, just expensive.
