HTPC query... not sure if rightplace to post this one??
Quick query if anyone can answer this one.

I have bene getting some long repeating buzzing/beeps from my HTPC. It seems to be running fine, but I am concerned about this in case there is some problem somewhere.

Its not overheating, so I have no idea what it might be.

There are no error messages or warnings popping up (not sure if they would in any event), and I don't know how to check on the OS to diagnose what the problem might be.

Could it be a hard drive issue or impending failure???

Hopefully someone can shed some light??

Cheers

PS - If Dunks is still around - did you get my email I sent a couple of weeks ago???

Is it the PC speaker that is making the noise?

It can be any number of things, but I would guess it might be something fan related perhaps?

Best thing is to boot into the bios, (F2 or Del during boot), and see if anything looks amiss in the PC health section; fan speed, CPU temp, system temp.

Also check the settings for what can trigger the alarm. Perhaps one of them will shed some light on the beeping.

Oh, and Dunks is around. His dry wit often pops up now and then Biggrin

Cheers - I will have a look in the bios and see what I can find.
