Dark Picture
hi all i don't no if this is in the right place
I have a Advent t9102 with a ASUS ATi Radeon HD3450 HDMI Slimline Graphics Card with 1GB HyperMemory. I am running windows 7 I am also dueled booted with xp just why i get things all sorted. When i play a video/film in windows 7 the picture is really dark. (see pic) i have used different players. Media player / media center but the video/film is still dark i have tried reinstalling the driver. i have been moving the setting but nothing seems to work. (all the setting back to normal now) If i go back to win xp on the duel boot the same video/film is normal so i think the hardware is ok. i hope someone can help as i want to get my media center up and running. cheers Zac Growing old is compulsory... Have you any other software installed, codecs etc? And what version of Windows was the show recorded in, XP or Windows7? Just out of interest, what is the file extension of the file, .dvr-ms? Try uninstalling the drivers again of the graphics card and let Windows just auto install it's default WHQL drivers and see what happens. In other words, try and get the graphics card working without the control panel installed. It definitely sounds like a Gamma/brightness/contrast issue, but where to adjust I'm not sure. Let me know where you get with it. elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |

RE: Dark Picture
Hi elootos
I tried uninstalling the drivers and let windows sort them out for me. I have now got really good pictures and i am watching live tv and recored videos and everything seems fine. I have even got my hdmi working with the sound. I only need my memory that i have ordered. hopefully i will get it soon as i have only got 512mb. Still running ok though. My only problem that i have now is my remote is wifi and i cant get an signal from the loft to down stairs. Need to have i rethink maybe an usb extender. thanks again Growing old is compulsory... Good to hear it worked. Must have been a control panel conflict somewhere. With your USB receiver for the remote, you may not have to run the receiver actually into the lounge, you could always run it down into a cupboard in a bedroom (providing it was a floor to ceiling cupboard that is!). That might bring the receiver close enough so it may work. elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |

So I am hoping that I only have to run the cable into the cupboard at the top of the stairs. Will let you no when I get the cable this week. Growing old is compulsory... Growing up is optional |

Need to have i rethink maybe an usb extender. Nice idea, but prob not what the remote uses. If like a Gyration it'll be a USB stick with internal antenna - the USB receiver for my bedroom I've on a 5m USB extension cable and placed it under all the loft insulation directly above the bed. Even works downstairs in the lounge, although not a very handy feature :dodgy: I use to have a Median RF remote though that had loads of control; it required a PCI slot and it's card utilised an aerial like the one you mention. Not a 'Media Center' remote though so it got ebayed. That worked through the entire house and even someway down the road. Again, not exactly a useful feature... elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |
