RE: Blu-ray / DVD library in Media Center
His transcode plug in for 360 extenders works 100% with main movie (dvd) rips. It doesnt handle full discs as it plays the the largest file first.

Hey everyone, Many thanks for this guide by the way. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a programme other than media browser, one that will work with XP until i get around to upgradeing to windows 7.

thanks

Must update this guide actually. For me (and many others) My Movies is the one to have. Media Browser on the face of it seems very simple, but unfortunately it's very buggy.

There's even the legacy download available on the My Movies site for XP users.

Haha, I would actually prefer to use Media Browser over My Movies because of its simplistic approach to databasing a film archive, but if it don't work properly, then out the window it goes...

RE: Blu-ray / DVD library in Media Center
Been having problems of late with Powerdvd9, skipping, jumping, and muting the audio when I insert a bluray disc.
Cyberlink think my system is under powered.
Intel ssd, 8 gigs of ram, i5 cpu, 5850 gfx. So I think not!

Thought I`d give arcsofts TMT3 a trial.
The trial version doesnt have the dolby decoder but it will bitstream HD DTS to your amp.
This is the neat part. It will play bluray rips without the need to mount images or faff about with any plug ins.

This is without a doubt the quickest way to play ripped Burays as part of your dvd library.

Method I`m using is.

Anydvdhd running, run tsmuxer, rip main movie (with hdaudio stream) to the library.

Max ripping time is about 25mins.
Job done

Tsremux is free TMT3 has a 15 day trial, Antdvdhd has a 30 day trial.

Yeah I've been meaning to move over to TMT3 for a while but during these sunnier warmer months I tend to not watch many films so that may be an autumn upgrade for me.

I was using the PDVD 10 trial though and that fixed all my issues that I was getting playing films off the Home Server, however the rate that Cyberlink bring out newer editions worries me slightly. TMT3 I think it will be...

Amended guide to feature My Movies and TotalMedia Theatre Platinum 3 instead of the other, less stable software Wink
