RE: BlackGold BGT3595 - In Stock!
Cheers for this Phil
Couple of interesting points on the website link... Firstly only avaialble to BlackGold verified OEM accounts. How will that work ? Also no future proofing for HD broadcasts in the UK for DVB-T2HD. Not that anyone uses that at the moment. However, I have heard that Freeview will adopt this at some point in the future when they switch all transmitters from DVB-T to DVB-T2. I presume this will start after analogue switch off, so it's only around the corner to be fair. I do like the idea of twin tuner satellite and DiSEqC which could form part of my plan to go multisat later this year if funds exist. I'd get another dish up and run the twin feed to my Scaleo E machine in the bedroom and run a Digisender to the tv downstairs. Granted no HD downstairs for multisat but we have Sky HD and don't want to upset the missus really. With the price of £109 ex vat, it's not cheap but if you consider it's twin tuner sat, it does fair favourablly against the old Hauppage HVR 4000 that I have in my current Media pc in the front room. |

But my original DVB-T cards from way back were Blackgold and they were awful!! Really buggy driver support and a pain for many early MCE adopters. However I think that is all in the past and would give that card a go if needing one. If it can do USALS with Disecq, then it would be a neat piece of kit. Time to update my Manhattan ST550, and then it's a Media Centre sat card or a Spiderbox ! Shame it doesn't do UK freeview HDTV though.

I thought Freesat would be the nuts, but it seems FreeviewHD is more likely to take off with HD material. elootos - mediacenterhouse.com This forum has no strict rules, just those I make up as I go along! |
