Audio System Questions

I am just after a little further clarification with regard to your audio setup:

- What is you r make and model of Amp and speaker switch?
- Does you have IR control of both of these devices with the harmony?
- What connections do you use between HTPC and Amp?
- Do your room volume controls have IR control?
- What 5.1 system do you use and how is this connected to the Amp?

I am just trying to work out my design for an audio system assuming I have a media centre PC for each room and would like individual zone music but also have ability to play same music from one of these - Maybe the windows home server box?

I use an Onkyo TX-SR605 amp and a Musica SS6 speaker switch.

- Does you have IR control of both of these devices with the harmony?

Only the amp. The switch is manual.

- What connections do you use between HTPC and Amp?

HDMI & Phono

- Do your room volume controls have IR control?

No, I use and Ipod Touch or iPhone with VMCMote installed to control the content being palyed from the HTPC.

- What 5.1 system do you use and how is this connected to the Amp?

I use an Onkyo TX-SR605 amp

You would only be able to play a diiferent song in each room, if you want features such as follow me or party mode (all zones) then the Sonos is worth looking at.
